摘要

The theme for this year's National Conference of the Beef Improvement Association of Australia (BIA) created much interest and expectation among those who attended. The constant drift of funds from rural and regional Australia to the big cities (GST and superannuation are two obvious culprits) needs addressing, so we were fortunate to hear from a variety of committed operators. In the market for investing funds, agriculture is being left behind, according to Geoff Daniel, who manages the family farmnear Tum-barumba and is a director of Grass Farms Australia (GFA), which in turn manages or leases about 20 farms in southern NSW.
