Bioenergy another opportunity for farm trees and crops

Biomass has the potential to supply ten times the world's current energy use, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and slowing down global warming. A recently released report from the Joint Venture Agroforestry Program (JVAP) examines the use of biomass to generate electricity and produce fuels. BIOMASS is organic matter originally derived from plants, produced through the process of photosynthesis, and which is not fossilised (such as coal). Biomass can act as a store of chemical energy to provide heat, electricity and transportation fuels, or as a chemical feedstock for bio-based products.
