A doption of no-till farming across Victoria has been steadily increasing over the past 10 years. Initially there was some speculation that canola could not be grown success-fully in the no-till system but over recent years these con-cerns have been proven unfounded as production of canola in the no-till system has steadily risen. "The fit of canola in the no-till rotation is similar to other rotations in that it is excellent in helping to clean up grass weeds in paddocks, improve soil structure, increase microbial activity in the soil and provide a break for root diseases," Victorian No-Till Association executive officer, Vanessa Grieger, says.
