ASFARM computer software package with the capacity to make use of crop monitoring and Global Positioning System (GPS) tecnnoiogy nas been developed by north-west NSW firm, Aginfotech. Primarily designed for use in the cotton industry, the package of Farm Office programs can be modified to suit other commodity-based farming enterprises such as grain growing. It has been widely adopted in the cotton sector where farmers are using the system to track the yield and quality of cotton from specific sections of fields through to the completion of the ginning process. Farmers are identifying the parts of each field which are underper-forming, and they are receiving feedback on the types of ginning processes which produce the best returns.
