Domestic feed grain prices expected to fall

There are a number of factors impacting on the domestic grain market at this time and they are all pointing downwards. There was a general rain through all of the Australian grain areas in late February. Better rains were received in the eastern states, with some of the heaviest falls in the marginal wheat areas of South Australia and New South Wales and also the pastoral country. A lighter follow up rain was received a week later. These rains produced paddock feed and enabled farmers in the droughtareas to ease back on the feeding of grain supplements. Perhaps farmers did not exactly stop feeding whole grain or grain based drought pellets, but they didn't phone in any fresh orders for grain based feeds. Thus one demand segment for grain eased.
