High picture quality from multiple camera positions requires adequate brightness and uniformity all around the impact area. Qualification of a new car model requires more and more tests and therefore a modern crash facility must have the flexibility to execute a multitude of test procedures with the shortest possible turn-around times between sessions. Daylight lighting is the most suitable technology to address the previously mentioned requirements. Having the highest efficiency of all technologies (> 90 lm/W), the smallest amount of fixtures are required to deliver the required brightness. At the same time, the amount of heat produced is low, and additional IR filtering reduces this to a minimum without sacrificing light output.
