Compact lamps can be used in the tight spaces of a vehicle during crash testing to achieve high-quality illumination as required. 'Let there be light' - preferably in great quantities for high-speed video image capture. This is the mantra of all professional photographers, whether they are shooting high-speed video of car crashes or photos of high-end fashion models. The more light you have, the better the image quality will be. Outside a vehicle, there is ample freedom of space to assemble large configurations of high-intensity light fixtures to produce good-quality images with high-speed cameras. But inside a vehicle the problems created by tight spaces greatly limit the ability to position, mount and aim light fixtures. And the 100g impact shock during a crash demands an extremely rugged design for those lights.
