Alongside the complexity and scale of many livestock businesses is realisation that good decision making needs expert advice. While many farmers now engage financial and pasture specialists most are yet to add vets to their advisory panel. Alastair Henderson who specialised in livestock production with consultants Rural Management Partners explains this should change as most vets can contribute to decision making which impacts on total farm productivity.
