Identification technology and programs evolving fast

WITH the compulsory implementation of the national livestock identification scheme (NLIS) in all States and Territories by July 1, 2005, the upgrading of Australia's existing tailtag system is fast becoming a reality for cattle producers. Originally, NLIS was to be implemented nationally by luly 1 this year but was delayed until 2005 for the benefit of Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
