Petroleum coke prices on an fob US Gulf basis strengthened this week on a decrease in freight rates and increasing bidding interest on the back of high coal prices. A US Gulf refner closed a high-sulphur coke deal late last week at $121.50/t fob, while a handful of other deals were heard in the mid-to-high $110s/t into the mid-$120s/t.
