NORTH AMERICAN MILL ACTIVITY

U.S. pipe and tube mills operated at 39.3% of capacity in April based upon preliminary shipment data. This is a decrease of 8.2 percentage points from the March rate once adjusted for final U.S. domestic shipments. At this time last year, the average operating rate was 47.8%. These figures encompass all U.S. mills.
