Astute farm purchases elevate farmer to number one Australian sheep business

Tom Brink-worth is undoubtedly a modern-day pioneer; entirely self-made and having forged many new frontiers over his almost 60-year farming career, he and his wife Pat have built up one of Australia's largest farming business. Last year, the Brinkworths recorded the second highest sheep flock in the countiy, with 290,000 head. Over the last 12 months they have gone a step further, taking the number one position on the Australian Farm Journals sheep farmer list, with a total of 320,000 sheep including 150,000 ewes. The Bnnkworth agricultural business is always looking at opportunities to expand and currently holds claim to 85 stations, including around 208,000 hectares in South Australia's South East and over 833,000ha in the outback.
