Snapshot of Australia's renewable energy

Each year the Clean Energy Council reviews developments taking place in renewable energy generation around Australia. An edited summary of the major renewable technologies rural Australians are likely to embrace is described. The Australian electricity industry generated 251 terawatt hours of electricity in the year to October 2010. Renewable energy accounted for 8.67% of electricity generated. This is a significant rise from previous years and was mostly due to increased hydro power.
