THE AUSTRALIAN Fertiliser Services Association (AFSA) initiated the development of the Accuspread protocols to test the performance of their members' spreader trucks.The protocols ensure that Accuspread accredited spreaders apply fertiliser accurately and evenly across paddocks. An estimated 10-15% of producers use soil-testing annually to determine nutrient requirements for their farming land. This tool is an important part of farm management used on dairy, grazing and cropping properties. The first part of the nutrient management process is the soil sampling. Then follows laboratory analysis and obtaining sound nutrient recommendations; the final step is accurately and evenly applying the nutrients recommended.
