WHEN a 19 micron fleece line can fetch 1.50 cents a kilogram clean more than a similar style of 20 micron, the price for each point of micron is critical. A 1.5 cent to 20 cent price gap for each point of micron can amount to 20 dollar a bale. Pricingor valuing wool to the point of micron is important particularly when significant price spreads begin to appear. Even in the current flat market, the difference between a 19 micron and a 22 micron fleece line has been in the order of 3.50 cents a kilogram clean.
