Reduced grain supply

WINTER crop production figures are well down on averages for Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia. It is now clear that winter grain production for Victoria will not reach next year's Victorian demand for grain. In NSW there will be reasonable crops in the north-west but very little winter grain from the central west and southern areas. Queensland has received about 500,000 tonnes of wheat in central districts. Most of this will go to export but some will be trucked down to the Brisbane flour mills and perhaps Darling Downs feedlots.
