The Australian beef industry is faced with the challenge of supplying a product that entices consumers to have another beef-based meal. For consumers to continue to choose beef over another protein source such as chicken, fish or pork the product mustbe of consistent quality from one eating experience to another. And the industry must supply products that satisfy the requirements of consumers from different regional and economic backgrounds. The sustainability of the industry depends on the successful integration of all of its parts. To be successful each sector must specialise in its own area but co-operate and integrate with others.
