Feeding lambs in summer

In September this year, the Grasslands Society of Victoria ran a field day at the Pastoral and Veterinary Institute at Hamilton in Victoria. The day was to provide information for producers who will need tO be feeding lambs during the coming summer.In recent times, the value of running field days has been questioned - does anybody actually go home and implement anything? Thus, at issue is whether a field day should simply create awareness by showcasing projects and new technology, or whether producers should feel compelled to go home and implement some change. The overall showcasing of a program seems to have fallen a bit flat in recent times as programs with a wide diversity of information. but without direct focus, have failed to draw the largeraudiences of the past. Clearly, producers are now too busy to attend an event that will not provide an immediate benefit to their bottom line.
