ECONOMIC RATIONALISM KILLING THE COUNTRY: Many towns could disappear

PEOPLE in the bush are fed up with E.R. -- Economic Rationalism. They are now starting to equate it with TV's E.R. -- Emergency Room. Both Coalition and Labor Governments have embraced E.R. in the 1990s, along with key banks and corporations. Thousands of jobs have disappeared from the private and public sector as governments rein in their spending and corporations seek to lift their bottom line by hacking into overheads, especially wage bills.
