VISION 2020: PLANTATIONS TREBLED

AUSTRALIAN farmers and rural communities have been presented with an out-standing land-use opportu-nity but virtually nobody knows about it. At a function in Canberra last spring, a program and document called "Plantations for Australia - the 2020 vision" was launched. It puts the case for one of the most exciting initiatives for land use ever seen in Australia - to treble the effective area of Australia's plantations between 1996 and 2020.
