THE ROADSIDE mail box is not a mere receptacle for mail at the front gate but is becoming a recognised form of Australian bush art. Adorning the countryside along main roads and back lanes, mail boxes reflect much of the character of the bush. The blast of a thousand suns and the rasp of a hundred dust storms have baked many mail boxes the colour of the country.
