Save the Bush helps wetlands

AN INSPIRING example of community and government cooperation in biodiversity conservation and repair for agricultural areas has generated much interest among farmers in Denmark, in the south western corner of Western Australia. Using seeding money from Save the Bush, under the Federal Government's National Landcare Program, the Denmark Environment Centre has helped establish the South Coast Wetland Conservation Program. This involves wetland fencing, revegetation and rehabilitation on a whole district basis. It is a cooperative effort between the centre, farmers, conservation district committees and APACE Green Skills.
