EBOR BEEF GROWERS IN TRADING ALLIANCE: Group synergy means more clout

BEEF cattle producers in the Ebor district of northern NSW have banded together to establish a trading alliance which has opened new marketing opportunities for their livestock. Ebor Beef Inc was formed in 1993 with a membership of 20 local producers.Today, the group has nearly 70 members drawn from a wide geographic area of north-eastern NSW. They are reaping benefits from putting together large lines of cattle to satisfy a broader range of markets. And by selling joint lots of cattle submitted byvarious vendors, they make substantial freight savings by having the scale to make up semi-trailer and decker loads.
