THE NATIONAL Outlook Conference in February provided some frightening information for producers of sheep and lambs. This showed that, on average, their properties were going to each lose 23,500 dollar in 1995/96. The news gained widespread media attention. Scary stuff. Enough for a producer in a fit of depression to seriously consider selling the farm and putting the money into the burgeoning sharemarket — at the moment at least.
