AGRICULTURAL INSTITUTE LEADS IN RESEARCH

CHARLES Sturt University at Wagga Wagga, NSW, the largest provider of agricultural education by distance in Australia, has been voted Australian University of the year. The institute developed from a base which focused on undergraduate teaching to having a broad research and education profile, and now includes bachelor degrees and PhD qualifications. It is a leading research institution in weeds, herbicide resistance, farming systems, biological weed control, pasture ecology, soil nutrition and soil/water relationships.
