RECENTLY while sitting through a session at a conference and agonising over the problems of the wool industry, I penned this short ditty summing up the wool industry and called it 'Fibre from Sheep': Fibre from sheep now very, very cheap but trouble aheap and pooh is deep way out is steep can't creep, must leap. A glance at the rural newspapers will rapidly demonstrate the amount of pain being felt at the grower end of the wool market. Under the pain of low prices that are now below the cost of production, growers are rushing around trying to find a victim to blame for their on-farm problems.
