STUDY LOOKS AT NEW FARM INDUSTRIES: Times of crisis provide best opportunities

ASTUDY into the emergence of new farm industries in Aus-tralia in the past 20 years provides some salutary lessons for budding entrepreneurs planning to establish alternative rural ventures. The PhD study by University of Queensland Graduate School of Management lecturer, Drew Wollin, looked at the establishment of the cotton industry in north-west NSW, the rice industry in north Queensland, the export table wine industry, and the export pet food industry.
