? 2023 Elsevier B.V.In this study, a CeO2 catalyst was derived from a Ce-based metal–organic framework (Ce-MOF) via an annealing process. Various analytical techniques, including XPS, XRD, SEM/EDX, and HR-TEM, were used to characterize the Ce-MOF-derived CeO2 nanoparticles. The as-synthesized Ce-MOF and Ce-MOF-derived CeO2 catalysts were used for the reduction of methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (Rh B) in the presence of NaBH4. Compared with Ce-MOF, the CeO2 catalyst exhibited a 90 % reduction of MB/RhB within 6 and 8 min, respectively.
