A wave of waves, and the stories they tell

The year is still young, but waves have been in the news a lot so far-or perhaps just the news I follow and remember. Starting in January we had a tsunami generated by a Hunga Tonga volcano. The energy from the eruption caused waves that circled the globe at least three times. I say at least because that's what we could detect but it is quite possible that some energy kept rippling through the oceans for countless more, undetected rotations.
