Coal gained ground in China’s 1Q energy mix

Coal’s share of China’s primary energy consumption edged higher in the frst quarter as tight supply and rising prices cut demand for alternative thermal fuels such as oil and LNG. The share of coal in the primary energy mix increased by 0.4 percentage points in January-March, the national bureau of statistics (NBS) said, without giving the actual percentage fgure.
