Adaptive Internet integration of field bus systems

摘要

There is a increasing need to link field bus systems with processes and applications outside the classic automation domain. However the lack of interoperability turns still out to be an obstacle hard to get over. To remedy this, most people agree that a common standard for data exchange has to be established, but they hardly agree about its content. This paper follows a different idea: individual interfaces and data exchange formats can be maintained. Users may employ any external application of their choice without considering the type or specifics of field bus systems. Instead field bus systems adapt themselves to the user's environment.
