MANAGEMENT OF Spodoptera litura (FABRICIUS) INFESTING DOLICHOS BEAN, Lablab purpureus (L.) SWEET.

The dolichos bean, Lablabpurpureus (L.) Sweet, locally known as ‘Ghevada’, is an important leguminous crop grown in Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is infested by a number of insect pests and the important one among them is Spodoptra litura (Fabricious).The management trail was conducted at College of Agriculture, Dr. B.S. Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli for the management of 5. litura on dolichos bean in the year 2021 in randomized black design with seven treatments and three replications.The results revealed that the insecticide emamectin banzoate 5 SG @ 0.0025 per cent was the most effective for management of A. litura on dolichos bean, with 14.30 per cent cumulative leaf damage.
