? 2021, Scibulcom Ltd.. All rights reserved.The treatment of water, subsoil and sewage is a very serious problem in our society today and over time it will become more and more important. Thus, the need for a more prudent management of existing stocks becomes imperative, while in the modern production process they aim at as little waste production as possible and therefore at the lowest environmental burden. In particular, the textile industry is facing the challenge of effective waste management. Dye residues released from both coloured fabrics and textile printing machines end up in the waste. As already mentioned, a significant group of dyes in dyehouses are reactive dyes, which due to their superiority in the dyeing process, have been used extensively in recent years, although as envi-ronmentally harmful they are among the most polluting agents among textile waste. This work attempts to find the viability of hydrodynamic cavitations in the degradation of dyes and the impact of various parameters on degradation rate. In addition, the effect of orifice plates and cavitation number on decolourisation is also analysed.
