Shell USA Inc., a subsidiary of global major Shell Plc, said Wednesdayit would buy Volta Inc., an EV charging network company with morethan 3,000 charging points in 31 U.S. states, extending a wave ofconsolidation in the EV charging industry.Shell said it agreed to pay $169 million in cash to buy all outstandingshares of Volta, which is also developing more than 3,400 additional charge points and generating advertising revenue from screensembedded into the public charge points, according to the energy major.
