THE US Coast Guard (USCG) marked the start of new hull production for the MH-60T medium-range recovery (MRR) helicopter as part of the service life extension program (SLEP) at Sikorsky's production facility in Troy, Alabama, on March 8. The USCG has ordered 42 new hulls at a cost of approximately $232m under an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract, which was awarded in January 2021. Delivery of the first new MH-60T hull is scheduled to take place in September 2023, with the second and third due to follow in March and April 2024. Subsequent hull deliveries should follow at a rate of around one per month.
