Combinations of failed components (modules and communication lines) for which the n-cube is not an n-single-fold diagnosable system were shown to be possible in the hypercube structures. A system of n chains of a certain structure constructed to check each of the N(= 2{sup}n) hypercube modules was used to transform the initial information about the state of the hypercube. A two-stage procedure for diagnosis of p(≤ n) failed components was substantiated. Its application to some failure situations in the vertex 3-cube was illustrated.
