AVANTI WEST Coast, having reinstated a seventh hourly departure from Euston at the December timetable change, reverted to running only 4tph from Euston from 17 January in a reduced timetable planned to run until 25 February. In December the operator had reintroduced a 3tph service from Euston to Manchester, alongside 2tph to the West Midlands (with extensions) and 1tph each to Liverpool and Glasgow. However, the January reduction was to a similar timetable to that implemented during previous lockdowns, with just 4tph from Euston for most of the day.These comprised hourly services to Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and the West Midlands (the latter with extensions to Edinburgh and Blackpool), plus limited services to North Wales and Shrewsbury.
