Methods and tools for industrial controller designStarting with a definition of industrial logic control the basic problems of controller design are reviewed. An overview about the historical development of controller design leads to the current state of methods and tools. Finally, an outlook on therequirements for future solutions is given. Throughout the paper a practical example is used to illustrate the presented concepts.
