World demand and activity levels continue to recover from the Covid driven lockdowns of Q2 and steel production outside of China is now nearly back to pre-Covid levels. However, there is significant regional variation in this recovery, with more traditional markets in Europe, N America and Japan lagging countries in SE Asia and S America. The recovery for manganese can be seen both in the wider distribution of exports from South Africa but also in the pick-up in ferroalloy prices in Europe.
