Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rareform of systemic necrotizing vasculitis that affects small- andmedium-caliber vessels, which can involve the lungs, nose andparanasal sinuses, intestinal tract, kidneys, heart, and skin.Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis was formerlycalled Churg-Strauss Syndrome, from the names of the authorswho first described it as an ‘‘allergic granulomatosis and allergicangiitis.’’.
