Gu, the maker of refrigerated puddings in the UK, has unveiled three new desserts based on cocktail flavours in glass ramekins. Espresso Martini features chocolate coffee pearls in French coffee liquor cheesecake, with coffee creme and a layer of biscuit on the bottom, blended with coffee and cocoa. The Passionfruit Martini version, known as the Queen of Cocktails, offers a crunchy biscuit base, with tangy passionfruit curd covering, then creamy vanilla and vodka cheesecake, and topped with passionfruit and champagne compote and chocolate-covered popping candy. Strawberry Daiquiri offers rum-infused strawberry compote, with strawberry daiquiri cheesecake below it, a strawberry and lime curd layer, with a red biscuit base. They are available at Asda supermarkets nationwide, along with delivery services, for ￡3.95 (€4.49) per two-ramekin package. Cheese dairy Kaserebellen has released Bio Bergblumen Rebell (Organic mountain flowers rebel), a creamy, strong hard cheese with 51 fat in dry matter made from 100 organic mountain farmers' hay milk with a maturing period of around six months. Its fragrance is characterised by mild sour cream through to roasted malt notes and its creamy, strong body is reminiscent of dark chocolate and dark caramel, which is surrounded by salty notes. The dark bark is with mountain flowers and pine ash. The cheese is lactose-free and is sold from the dairy as half a loaf of 3kg.
