;FLY ZAMBY' AND 'FLY NAVIGATOR'THEIR WAY TO THE FLY RIVER

Yamba Welding and Engineering of NSW has successfully completed the construction of a pair of landing craft that will be operated on the Fly River in Papua New Guinea, the largest river in Oceania.Funded by investment funds from the Ok Tedi Trust, the 14-metre 'Fly Zamby' and 18-metre 'Fly Navigator' will be used for a variety of projects along the river in support of riverine commerce and community development. 'Fly Navigator' will initially be used to conduct navigation of the channels in the Fly River Delta and perform maintenance of all navigationmarkers up the river. 'Fly Zamby' will be used to deliver project materials directly to communities as well as act as a drinking water transporter during drought conditions, the river water not being fit for human consumption.
