North Sea-focused EnQuest is looking to offset the UK’s latest upstream tax rise with investments at its Kraken and Magnus oil fields, it said Nov. 24, as it reported increased production from Magnus — a contributor to the Brent blend — thanks to recent drilling and intervention work. In a statement, the London-listed company said Magnus field production had increased from 11,500 b/d of oil equivalent over the first 10 months of the year to 17,000 boe/d for October.
