'CRV0JARDINE RIVER' customs picks stebercraft for medium size patrol boats

In April, after exhaustive tender evaluation, the Australian Customs Service awarded Stebercraft International of Taree, Australia the contract for four Customs Response Vessels. The second of these, 'CRV Jardine River', was delivered in September. These four vessels will form a significant part of Australia's strategy for dealing with illegal incursions into Australia's northern waters. Eight 38-metre Bay class Customs patrol boats and 13 RAN 56-metre Armidale class patrol boats form the front lineof response and apprehension. The medium patrol boats' intent is to allow the larger vessels to spend more time in their offshore patrol areas.
