China's car pare amounted to 281 million units as of 2020,similar to that for the US,said Xu Hai-dong,head of industrial research and vice chief engineer at the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.China's automotive vehicle sales reached 25.3 million units in 2020,falling each year since the 2017 peak at 28.9 million,said Xu at this April's China Rubber Conference 2021,held in Qingdao,Shandong.Sales of new energy vehicles(NEVs)in the country jumped 11% year-on-year in 2020,to 1.37 million units,accounting for over half of the global sales.The NEV car pare totaled 4.9 million units in 2020.
