SUSTAINABILITY IN GARDEN DESIGN-THE NEXT STEPS

The Society of Garden Designers' Council lead for Sustainability, Rachel Bailey MSGD, and fellow designer Rae Wilkinson MSGD explain how the ideas need to be put into action. THE FIRST SOCIETY OF Garden Designers (SGD) Symposium, held last summer, andthe Manifesto that was , born out of the discussions that took place during that event, were important milestones for the garden and landscape design profession. There is work’ to be done, however, to ehsure that 'sustainable garden design' becomes standard practice and that every designer plays their part to make it so.
