The year 2023 could be an inflection point for the global energytransition, amid Europe’s efforts to respond to its energy crisisand US implementation of major new climate laws, WorldResources Institute suggested in a presentation teeing upstorylines to watch in 2023.Amid the energy crisis in 2022, Ani Dasgupta, president andCEO of the global research organization, highlighted a numberof major “breakthroughs” that year, including record globaldeployment of renewable energy and new global conservationand climate funding commitments. But he said a central questionwill be whether such advances mark the start of a “systemicshift” or more “incremental change.”
