Mr. Gordon Smillie has been appointed Regional Manager for Scotland and North East England for Refractory Services, of Van Street, Glasgow. 46-year-old Mr. Smillie joined the company in June, 1970 as Contract Manager. He will be based at the company's head office. Carborundum have reluctantly advised customers that due to the present monetary situation in the UK, the price of all products manufactured by their Refractories and Electronics Division will be raised by 5 per cent as from 1st August. This does not, however, include Globar heating elements.
