IIR sees more US refining capacity coming down

According to IIR Energy, US refiners are expected to take 1.257MM b/d of refining capacity offline in the week ending March 6, as can be seen in the following chart. This week's offline capacity is up from the 1.223MM b/d that was estimated to have been idled in the week to Feb. 28, which was an upward adjustment from previous forecasts for 0.578-1.191MM b/d. Preliminary projections show 1.575MM b/d down during the week to March 13.
