Abstract In this study we propose a sequential test for hypothesis testing on the Cpmkdocumentclass[12pt]{minimal} usepackage{amsmath} usepackage{wasysym} usepackage{amsfonts} usepackage{amssymb} usepackage{amsbsy} usepackage{mathrsfs} usepackage{upgreek} setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt} begin{document}$$C_{pmk}$$end{document} process capability index. Furthermore, we propose a sequential sampling plan for lot acceptance based on Cpmkdocumentclass[12pt]{minimal} usepackage{amsmath} usepackage{wasysym} usepackage{amsfonts} usepackage{amssymb} usepackage{amsbsy} usepackage{mathrsfs} usepackage{upgreek} setlength{oddsidemargin}{-69pt} begin{document}$$C_{pmk}$$end{document}. We compare the statistical properties of the sequential procedures with the performance of the corresponding non-sequential methodologies by carrying out an extensive simulation study. The results show that the proposed sequential methods make it possible to reach decisions much more quickly, on average, than the fixed sample size procedures with the same discriminating power.
